Adult female BWT

Jim Fisher shot this at Delta a couple days ago. You can see the large bill spots – clearly adult females.

Adult females are about the last cohort to leave for the winter. That is the cost of raising kids and then having to molt – they migrate a month or more after adult males.

At least these two have completed the wing molt – many have not.
