California gull

Another Problem on the Prairies - Not New, Just Haven't Mentioned Before

This is a California Gull – kissing cousin to Herring Gulls that are common on both eastern and western coasts.

This is one of three gulls that commonly breed in the upper PPR. California Gulls winter on the pacific coast – hence the name.

This large gull is a significant predator of ducklings. This photo from today of one sitting on a car hood shows they are acclimated to people.
