Ducks and Oil - They Mix

A few years ago we worked in the Bakken to test whether ducks avoided oil extraction.

Simple answer – No. The numbers of pairs within a ½ mile of an extraction site was no different than random control plots.

Ducks also nested in close proximity to pump sites.
