How to tell a Trumpeter Swan (shown above) from a Tundra Swan.

  1. No yellow on top of bill
  2. Straighter edge of black from eye to bottom of bill.
  3. Bill more straight on top.

Size is very hard for most people – but Trumpters are about 30% larger than Tundra.

Yes, it would be very hard to see those features if swan hunting in North Dakota and the swan was at 40 yards.
