Delta Waterfowl Promotes Mike Sidders to Chief Marketing Officer

Sidders will continue to build brand awareness through targeted communications and marketing initiatives

BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA — Delta Waterfowl has promoted Mike Sidders to chief marketing officer, where he will continue to build on a marketing and communications strategy that showcases the human element behind the research and programs driving the organization’s mission.

Mike Sidders“Mike Sidders’ leadership has been a crucial part of Delta’s success during the past year,” said Jason Tharpe, Delta’s chief executive officer. “The marketing and communications team is telling Delta’s story in creative ways that benefit our members, donors, and partners, while also building brand awareness among duck hunters to drive growth for the organization.”

Sidders joined Delta in July 2025 as vice president of marketing and communications after more than 25 years working for businesses and brands tailored to appeal to outdoorsmen and women. At Delta, he has led the growth of the marketing and communications team and a realignment in strategic focus that puts an emphasis on serving duck hunters.

“The duck hunter is the only reason why Delta exists,” Sidders said. “Our focus on them has changed how we communicate as an organization.”

Through channels such as electronic newsletters, social media, Delta Waterfowl magazine, and strategic marketing initiatives, Sidders will continue to lead the team to build Delta’s brand awareness to bolster membership and inform Delta supporters. In his expanded leadership role, Sidders will also work closely with Tharpe and the rest of Delta’s executive team to strategically support the organization’s core initiatives such as Duck Production, Restoring Our Refuges, and Research and Education.

“I feel it’s incumbent on this position to help guide the organization and that’s a responsibility I take very seriously,” Sidders said. “That means strategically guiding it as it pertains to communications, being a good resource to our peer groups within the organization and being a dependable resource for our CEO. It also means making contributions that are moving the ball down the field for the organization. It’s incumbent on all of us to deliver on Delta’s mission.”

Sidders has been a supporter of Delta Waterfowl for more than 20 years. He helped start Delta’s successful West Metro Chapter in Waconia, Minnesota. He still attends the chapter’s annual fundraising banquet, and he’s a proud member of Delta’s Legacy Society.
